Don’t just inspect the spout. Look at the point where it enters the house. A hard freeze can crack the pipe inside that wall. Nothing drips outside, and water runs into your framing every time you use the hose.
4. Look at your sump pump and its discharge line.
Check the pit, the pump, and the pipe outside. This system only runs during heavy rain or snowmelt, so a failure stays quiet until the day you need it.
